BLM Wildland Fire Management Information - Help: Browser Information

The BLM Wildland Fire Management Information ("WFMI") web-site was designed to be accessed with the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (version 6 or later) or the Mozilla Firefox browser (version 2.0.0.1 or later). Using an older version or another type of browser may cause unexpected behavior.

Microsoft Internet Explorer must be configured as follows to ensure that the WFMI web-site will function properly:

1. Select Tools in the Microsoft Internet Explorer menu bar at the top of the browser window.
2. Select Internet Options... from the drop-down list.
3. To ensure that your browser will accept cookies for this web-site:
   • Select the Privacy tab (along the top of the Internet Options window).
   • Use the slider to set the privacy level to Medium or lower
   • If you prefer to set the privacy level to Medium High or High, then you may explicitly allow cookies for this web-site by doing the following:
     • Click the Sites button.
     • In the Address of Web site field, enter www.nifc.blm.gov.
     • Click the Allow button.
     • Then click the OK button.
4. To ensure that you are not receiving cached versions of the pages at this web-site (which may not be current):
   • Select the General tab (along the top of the Internet Options window).
   • In the Temporary Internet files section:
     • Click the Delete files... button; then click the OK button.
     • Click the Settings... button.
     • Set Check for newer versions of stored pages: to
       Every visit to the page (click the option button next to it).
       
     • Then click the OK button.
   • In the History section:
     • Click the Clear History button; then click the Yes button.
5. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.
